Everything we hide beneath our skin is alive, breathing, pulsing, and waiting. The smooth, polished surfaces we show the world tell only a small part of our story, while a quiet force silently reclaims its territory from within. In my most recent series, RAW-LLING OVER, I capture the exact moment this internal matter ruptures the facade to stand completely exposed, stripped of any possible mask.

Through the manipulation of raw cotton and textile wadding, material is transformed into a visceral body. These materials reveal both the visible outer shell and the hidden depths that were never meant to be seen. In this physical spill, fabric opens up and the true essence of the form is finally liberated. Here, memory is not merely represented but actively activated: the thread binds, conceals, and reveals all at once.

This work connects deeply to themes of personal identity and aesthetic responsibility, serving as a visceral reminder that we are made of multiple, complex layers. Ultimately, RAW-LLING OVERproposes that no matter how much we try to hide, beneath every surface exists another resilient layer, one that continues to breathe, move, and force its way toward the light.
